Wilma Marie Ebner, 95, of Hallettsville, passed away Sunday November 19, 2017. Wilma was born July 29, 1922 in Hallettsville, Texas to Edward Joseph and Estella Kuhn Schindler.
On June 27, 1942 Wilma married Leo X. Ebner Jr. Leo preceded her in death on April 2, 2000. Also she was preceded in death by her parents, son Edward Leo Ebner and one great grandchild. Survivors include her daughters Barbara Richardson of Calvert and Margaret Ebner Fisseler and husband Robert of Victoria, son David Ebner and wife Brenda of Carrolton, son Raymond Ebner and wife Marla of Koerth, and son Leonard Ebner of Koerth, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren.
At the age of 16 Wilma was introduced to bird watching by her father. She became an avid bird watcher. She was a talented musician. She played the piano and accordion. She attended Victoria College and graduated in 1941. She taught school in Vienna. She and her husband lived their remaining years at Koerth where they raised their children. She was the past president of the Sweet Home American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the KJZT and altar society.
Funeral Mass Service : 10 am, Wednesday, Nov. 22, 20017 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church at Koerth, Texas. Visitation: 5 pm Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at Kubena Funeral Home; with Rosary starting at 7 pm. Officiant: Father David Patrick Ebner (grandson). Memorials: Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church Building Fund. Burial: Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Koerth, Texas.
