Wilma Louise Burnes, 92, of Hallettsville, formerly of Bastrop, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016. She was born on May 11, 1923 in New Lisbon, IN to Charles Caleb & Fern Raffensbarger Bennett. She married Carroll Harvey Burnes on May 13, 1939 in Richmond, IN. They were blessed with 3 children; Jeanne Newby (Charles) of McMinnville, TN; Bobbie Vaughn (Bob) of Clinton, MD; and Jim Burnes (Karen) of Hallettsville, TX.

Wilma was preceded in death by; her husband, parents, 4 brothers, and great granddaughter.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, April 1, 2016, at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Michael Vaughn, Chuck Newby, Brent Newby, Jimmy Burnes, Bob Burnes, and Carroll Burnes. Officiant: Rev. Melanie Monroe. Memorials: in remembrance of Carroll & Wilma Burnes to the American Cancer Society. Burial: 12:30 pm, Friday, at Fairview Cemetery, 1409 Hwy 95N, Bastrop, TX.
