Willie C. Migl, 94, of Hallettsville, passed away Nov. 2, 2017. He was born on Feb. 28, 1923 to Willie J. & Rosie Klekar Migl in Villehrad, TX (Lavaca County). He married Mary Koenig Pekar on June 26, 1977 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. He was a member of the Czech Heritage Association and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Willie's father died when he was a teenager, leaving him to run the farm. He worked hard all his life at his jobs, which included Millwhite, Road Construction, making boots at Nacona Boot Factory, Morgan Portable Buildings, all the while still farming in Novohrad. After selling the farm, he continued to raise a few cattle in Hallettsville.

Willie enjoyed listening to Czech music and singing Czech songs. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys, which he watched every Sunday during football season.

Willie is survived by: wife Mary of 40 years; step-son Ron Pekar & wife Becky; step-daughter Darlene Appelt & husband Mike all of Hallettsville; brother Charlie Migl of San Antonio; sister Josephine Mikulik of Cistern, TX; 3 step-grandchildren, Tori Appelt, Steven Pekar and Tara Henke; and step-great grandchild Rhett Henke.

Willie was preceded in death by: his parents; sister Rosie Lala; and 2 brothers, Joe and Bowdy Migl.

Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 5 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary starting at 7 pm. Pallbearers: Charlie Migl Jr., Stanley Migl, Sam Migl, Mark Migl, Gene Mikulik, John Mikulik, Joe Mikulik and Steven Pekar. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
