The family moved to Ft. Worth in 1952, where his dad attained a job as an electrical engineer, and his mother a billing clerk for Moorelands Pharmacy.

William attended Alice Carlson and Blue Bonnett Elementary School in Fort Worth. He attended McClain Jr. High, and joined the Elliott Dance School to tap dance. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1963, and was the baseball manager during his high school. He achieved honor roll every year and was dedicated to his studies. He received a Bachelor of Business Degree in 1966 and a Master of Business Degree at TCU in 1976.

During his Junior High years, he worked summers for "The Fort Worth Press" newspaper route. In High School, he did janitorial work at TCU. After High School, he worked as a salesman for Colortile, manager for Edisons Warehouse Jewelers & Distribution, and manager of a Kroger Store in Fort Worth. William was drafted in 1967 (Vietnam War) and enlisted in the US Navy as a radioman stationed on the island of Guam.

William did volunteer jobs, Cooks Children Hospital Admittance, Fort Worth Children's Museum of Science and History tour guide, and most important was his Episcopal Church and Sacraments. He had a great devotion to Saint Francis, and loved animals. He had his pets blessed, Tabby Bell & Candy Graham, on St. Francis Day.

William and Rosemary Najvar said their wedding vows September 1995 at St. John's Episcopal Church. They enjoyed summer trips to Walt Disney World, both are Disney Fans. They enjoyed waltzing at church picnics. William cherished his step-daughters, and always showed their photographs to friends and co-workers. William will be missed by Rosemary; she had known him since he was a child. His mother and Rosemary's mother were friends in Ft. Worth. Rosemary would say, "Here comes the newspaper route boy, he's older but so cute, I love him."

William was of English, Irish and German heritage, an only child. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary; 2 step-daughters, Tonga (Woytek) Leur and Kristi (Woytek) Anguiano; step-granddaughters, Matylynn Leur & David Anguiano, and Rhianna.

Due to a crippling sickness of the brain cancer and neurological Parkinson's disease, he could only work at jobs found by the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. He never was on disability. He was proud of the work he could do. He did not want a hand-out from the government; he thought it was stealing from the taxpayers.
