Obituary

William "Willie" Eugene Barborak, 71, of Moravia, TX, passed away Sept. 24, 2018. He was born on Aug. 6, 1947 to William J. & Albina Novak Barborak. He was a member of Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church of Moravia.

Willie, at the age of 4, was stricken with polio and suffered some paralysis. He did not let the polio defeat him in his life. He graduated from Bishop Forest High School in Schulenburg in 1965. He followed his father's and mother's footsteps to love and work the land which has been in the Barborak family for 100 years. He began his custom hay baling business and continued for 25 years. During that time, he would maintain and repair the equipment with little help.

Willie became an avid hunter by rifle or bow and arrow. His many trophies are proof of his marksmanship. He was a great gardener, along-side his mother. He loved animals. There was no stray left unaided. He fed tons of food and grain to his animals such as his sheep, goats, donkeys, Zophie (a Texas-sized hog), turkeys, chickens, guineas, roosters and goose. Surviving him are his faithful companions, Patches, Otis, Barney, Jodi and numerous neighborhood cats.

Willie was affectionately known as Uncle Bill, our family has lost a great prayer warrior. Many intentions were given to him throughout the years. The rosary was an important part of his life. He relied heavily on the cross in his hand during difficult times. He loved perfection. He would fix everything with much patience and perseverance.
