Mr. William James Chovanetz, 65, of Hallettsville, died September 9, 2007. He was born on June 15, 1942 to Edwin & Leona Pesek Chovanetz in Sugarland, Texas. He married Earline Janak on August 22, 1965 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

William was a member of the Knights of Columbus; KJZT, and a Sacred Heart parishioner.

William is survived by: Wife; Parents; 2 sons, Sean Chovanetz of Austin, Texas and Aaron Chovanetz and wife Cori of Richmond, Texas. 2 brothers Edwin Chovanetz & wife Tanya of Missouri City, Texas and Barry Chovanetz & wife Nel of Plano, Texas. 1 brother-sister in-law Raymond & Patricia Opela of Hallettsville. 3 nephews Koda & Ricky Chovanetz and Mike Opela. 3 Neices Miyuki & Kate Chovanetz and Connie Steffek.

William was preceded in death by his brother Bernard Chovanetz.

Service: 2 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church. Visitation: 1 pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Tuesday at the Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Collin (Clyde) Jones, Everett Renger Jr., Jerome Pesek Jr., Koda Chovanetz, Mike Opela, and Harvey Steffek. Honorary Pallbearer: Rodney Janak. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials: M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Hospice of South Texas.
