Bill entered active duty service with the US Army on Oct 23, 1942, and was Honorable Discharge on Nov. 29, 1945 from Company M, 160th Infantry. During his service, he received the Asiatic - Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 bronze service stars for Bismark Archipelago Campaign, Southern Philippines Campaign, and Luzon Campaign; the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze service star for his activity in 2 of the 3 Campaigns; the Good Conduct Medal; the Victory Medal for WWII; 1 Service Stripe; and 5 Overseas Service Bars.
Bill is survived by his brother Hubert Grahmann & wife Mary of Hallettsville, and sister Emily Mucala of Yoakum.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Mae on Jan. 14, 1991; parents, brother Walter Grahmann, and sister Rose Lee Henke.
Service: 10 am, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation: 1 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Rosaries: 7 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home; and 9:30 am, Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Pallbearers: Raymond Henke, Pat Grahmann, Jack Clark, Allen Sells, Gary Mucala, Richard Henke, and David Smolik. Honorary Pallbearers: Roman Shimek, and all Nephews & Nieces. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or The American Heart Association. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
