Obituary

Wilbur W. Loewe, 86, of Hallettsville, went to his heavenly home January 26, 2022.  He lived a long full life, was born on June 29, 1935, in Breslau, Texas.  He was a member of the Breslau Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed then later became a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church.  As the oldest of four sons, he grew up helping his family maintain the farm then graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1954.  After graduation he alongside his brother Howard moved to Victoria where he drove truck routes for Coca-Cola.

Wilbur was then drafted into the United States Army where he served in Korea then went into the Army Reserves.  After serving his Country he moved to Houston where he lived with his brother Carlwyn and utilized his military experience working for WKM for a decade before returning to Hallettsville.  With his love of carpentry and ranching, he spent his later years acquiring many rental properties that he renovated and worked his cattle on the ranch.  He was always telling jokes and always had a helping hand for those he loved

Wilbur is preceded in death by:  his parents Willie and Leona Loewe; brothers, Carlwyn and Boyce Loewe; and nephew Craig Hudson.

Wilbur is survived by:  his brother Howard (Joyce); sister-in-law Jeanette; nieces and nephews, Dean Loewe, Cindy Hudson (David), Tim Loewe (Stephanie), Mel Loewe (Cheryl), Mike Loewe, Ryan Loewe, Jason Loewe, Bert Loewe (Melanie), Brandy Henry (Michael); and an abundance of great and second great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.  V isitation: 6 pm to 8 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Dean Loewe, Tim Loewe, Mel Loewe, Mike Loewe, Ryan Loewe and Jason Loewe. Honorary Pallbearer: Bert Loewe. Officiant: Pastor Jared Stillons. Burial: Breslau Cemetery. Memorials: donor's choice.
