Wilbert G. Supak, 79, of Hallettsville, passed away April 11, 2019. He was born November 30, 1939 in Hallettsville to George and Julie (Valigura) Supak in Hallettsville. He married Mary Lee Leopold on September 15, 1962 in Hallettsville and together had one daughter, Denise. He served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #2433 (just receiving his 50 year pin).
Wilbert attended Komensky, Breslau and Moravia country schools and graduated from Hallettsville ISD in 1958. He then attended Business College in Houston before returning to Hallettsville to begin employment with Otto Goedecke Cotton Company, Muska's Floor Shop and finally retiring from Circle Y Saddlery after 20+ years of service.
Wilbert never met a stranger; he always had a smile and joke for everyone he met. He was a simple man who enjoyed the outdoors. His favorite activities included hunting, fishing, gardening, dominoes and polka music. He truly loved family gatherings however his greatest joy was the special bond he shared with his two grandsons.
Wilbert is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Mary Lee Leopold Supak; daughter Denise Bujnoch and husband Larry; two grandsons, Josh Bujnoch & wife Heather, and Chad Bujnoch; great-grandson Greyer; and sister Margaret Maus.
Wilbert was preceded in death by; his parents, and brother-in-law Ray D. Maus of Victoria.
The family would like to thank Shady Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care they gave Wilbert during his stay there. He considered all of the staff, employees and residents family.
Wilbert will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Funeral Mass Service : 3 pm, Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home; with the Rosary starting at 7 pm. Pallbearers: Josh Bujnoch, Chad Bujnoch, Donnie Leopold, Dusty Leopold, Bill Nelson & Ronnie Bollom. Honorary Pallbearer: great-grandson Greyer James Bujnoch. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Donor's choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
