Obituary

Wayne Renger, 79, was born in Hallettsville Texas to Dr. and Mrs. Harvey Renger Sr. on August 24, 1936. He died December 9, 2015.

Wayne would go to any length to please the people he loved. He certainly agreed with the expression "Say it with flowers!" Those he thought deserving were often besieged with floral arrangements, often delivered in person. One of his rituals was to arrive at his favorite restaurant, Willie G's, which he frequented on a nightly basis when in Houston, with arm loads of flowers for all the employees!

The only thing that gave Wayne more pleasure than presenting petals was presenting pets to widows, friends and children. The children he loved often found a puppy or two on their doorsteps with or without the parents' permission! Over the years Wayne "collected "quite a few canine friends whom he dearly loved, most recently a yellow lab named Hurricane. His love of animals was not limited to dogs however. He once stopped traffic on Interstate 10 to rescue a turtle that was slowly making its way across the freeway!

Wayne loved Texas A&M University, had an adventurous spirit and an inquiring mind, which took him many places over the years.
Wayne is survived by a brother Dr. Harvey Renger Jr.; he also leaves numerous cousins – the playmates of his youth and many caring friends.
