Obituary

W. Ray Adams, 84, of Hallettsville, passed away April 21, 2011.  He was born on July 31, 1926 to Marvin E. & Clarice King Adams in Yoakum, TX. He was a veteran of WWII in the US Navy. He retired from oil field consulting and started a small tree farm & nursery business. He was a life member of the V.F.W. post 6382, a 50 plus year member of the Murchison Masonic Lodge #80 AF&AM, member of the Lutheran Men's Ministry and St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Ray is survived by: 2 sons, R. Wayne Adams & wife Bonnie of Hallettsville, and David Ray Adams & wife Jane of Grenada, Miss.; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. 2 brothers, Dick Adams & wife Anna of Bowling Green, KY, and Sam Adams & wife Faye of Bacliff, TX; sister Ruth Garner & husband Reese of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by: his 1st wife Vivian Marie "Woytek" Adams of 53 years, and 2nd wife Edell "Maschek" Adams; parents; infant sister, eldest sister June Adams, and youngest sister Stella Kokler.

Ray was a hard worker, good father and provider. He has gone on to be with our Father in heaven, and will be greatly missed by those of us left behind.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Prayer Service: 7 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Dr. Alan Williams. Pallbearers: Members of the Murchison Masonic Lodge #80 of Hallettsville. Burial: Czech Moravian Brethren Cemetery, Vsetin, Texas. Memorials: St. Peter Lutheran Church or Shriners Hospital.
