Violet "Vi" Williams, 93, of Hallettsville, died Aug. 1, 2008. She was born on Dec. 21, 1914 to Oscar L. & Audrey McElhannon Dozier in Foreman, Arkansas. She attended Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, OK, and married Carl "Ace" Williams on April 23, 1935 in Pawnee, OK. The couple moved to Texas in 1939, and settled in Hallettsville in 1966. She was a member of several Bridge Clubs, and a parishioner the First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville.

Vi is survived by her son Carl J. William & wife Sandra of Manakin Sabot, VA, and grandson Zachary Williams.

Vi was preceded in death by: husband Ace on Aug. 4, 1994; daughter Nancy Jo Williams; parents; a brother; and a sister.

Service: 10 am, Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: 3 pm, Sunday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Lundy Hooten. Pallbearers: Donald, Skelton, Warren Dupre, Billie Jo Hobbs, Claude Barnes, Zack Williams, and Reggie Brisco. Memorials: First United Methodist Church or Donor's Choice. Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
