Victor Louis Schindler, 78, of Hallettsville, passed away September 23, 2021.  He was born on September 7, 1943, to Eddie & Lillie Walters Schindler, in Lavaca County, TX.  He graduated in 1961 from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Hallettsville.  He married Barbara Hermes on February 2, 1963.  He was honorable discharged from the US Army National Guard and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth.

Victor is survived by:  wife Barbra (Hermes) Schindler; children, Debra Pilat (Paul), Cheryl Pilat, Melissa Pilat (Mark), Donald Schindler, Ronald Schindler (all from Hallettsville); sisters, Lillie (Schindler) Wolf (John) of Windthorst, TX, Carolyn (Schindler) Cowling (Robert)of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Bradley Pilat (Bridget), Kimberly Courville (Cody), Karley Pilat, Dustin Pilat, Brandi Adkins (Donald Jr.), Chase Pilat, Trentin Pilat, Leightin Pilat (Haley), Lani Pilat, Brentyn "Buddy" Pilat (Hannah), Jared "Scooter" Pilat, Cassandra & Heather Pekar, Jessica & Alex Fischer, Clayton Schindler and Bailey Schindler; and great grandchildren, Blake & Brayden Pilat (Bradley & Bridget Pilat), Kyler, Coby, & Casyn Courville (Kimberly & Cody Corville), Sydney, Donald III, Frederick, & Theodore Adkins (Brandi & Donald Jr. Adkins), Chloe & Jackson Pilat (Leightin & Haley Pilat), Kaden, Parker, Brynn, & Preston Pilat (Brentyn "Buddy" & Hannah Pilat), Laylah, London, James, Kai, & Silo Pekar (Cassandra & Heather Pekar), Jayke & Sawyer Fischer, (Jessica & Alex Fischer).

Preceded in death by:  parents Eddie & Lillie (Walters) Schindler; 3 brothers, Robert Schindler, George Schindler & Paul Schindler; sister Gladys Schindler; and great grandson Hudson Pilat.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Monday, September 27, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth. Visitation: 5 pm, Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville with Rosary starting at 6 pm. Pallbearers: Bradley Pilat, Dustin Pilat, Brentyn "Buddy" Pilat, Chase Pilat, Jared "Scooter" Pilat, Trentin Pilat, Leightin Pilat and Clayton Schindler. Honorary Pallbearers: Brandi (Pilat) Adkins, Kimberly (Pilat) Courville, Cassandra (Schindler) Pekar, Jessica (Schindler) Fischer, Karley Pilat, Bailey Schindler and Lani Pilat. Officiant: Rev. Dominic Antwi-Boasiako. Memorials: donor's choice. Burial: St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
