December 23, 1920 – November 19, 2008
Victor is survived by his wife Leona Buzek of Hallettsville; nine children, Kathleen Chovanetz & husband Mike, Betty Woytek & husband Harvey, Janie Wolf & husband David, Denise Pohl & husband Leslie, Melissa Leita & husband Ben, David Buzek & wife Alva, Joe Buzek & wife Diane all of Hallettsville, Genevieve Carroll & husband Jamie of Victoria, and Gary Buzek & wife Jodie of Mansfield, Texas. He has twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Davis, and brothers, Louis, Frank, and Tommy Buzek.
Vic served in the US Navy for 4 years during WWII, and made eleven trips across the ocean to serve his country. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion, and was a Disabled American Veteran.
In his early years of marriage, he farmed, and in 1965 he became owner of Vic's Tavern which he owned for twenty-six years. Vic's Tavern was the place to go for a friendly beer and practice your skill of domino playing. There are many excellent domino players that got their start in Vic's Tavern. On behalf of Victor, his family would like to thank the many patrons who visited Vic's Tavern throughout the years, where friendships began and memories were made. After retirement he managed the American Legion Hall for five years.
Victor loved many things about life, some of his greatest past times were domino playing, watching Houston Astros Baseball, and having his children gathered for big family get togethers, some of his most cherished times spent were giving his grandchildren rides on the John Deere tractor. Victor was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
