Obituary

Verna Virginia Orsak, 80, of theVienna Community, passed away Jan. 8, 2014. She was born on April 20, 1933 to Adolph & Rosalia Anderson in Richmond, TX. She married Ernest Orsak on Dec. 29, 1951 in Richmond and shared over 63 years together. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church of Hallettsville.

Verna was employed as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell (She would say, "Back when you actually spoke to someone.") for 15 years. She then retired and made her home in the Vienna Woods.

Verna enjoyed baking, making arts & crafts, and painting. She enjoyed her many vacations RVing and camping with her friends and family. She had special memories of those times. Her favorite place was Garner State Park and that beautiful Frio River. Verna also had fond memories of all the many card games, domino games, played with friends and family. The women were always the champions. But above all she enjoyed her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Everyone that came through her door became her child.

Verna is survived by: her husband Ernest; 2 sons, Robert "Bobby" Orsak & wife Cathy of Wallis, and Russell Orsak & wife Barbara of Hallettsville; 2 daughters, Susan Dunham & husband Richard of Rayne, LA, and Terri Wagner & husband Al of Hallettsville; sister Lorraine Fanning & husband Jackie of Odessa; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Jansky & husband Clinton, Shaun Orsak & wife Amber, Jerrad Orsak & wife Monique, Clayton Orsak, Jacob Kahanek, Cole Kahanek, Katie Wagner, Jason Johnson & wife Anna; and 4 great grandchildren, Aiden, Dakota, Preston, and Kaelyn Orsak.

Verna was preceded in death by: her parents Adolph Anderson & Rosalia Borowiak Anderson, and brother Sylvester Anderson.

Funeral Service: 2 pm, Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at Kubena Funeral Home.
Visitation: 12 noon, Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home.
Officiant: Rev. Virginia Frnke.
Pallbearers: Jerrad Orsak, Shaun Orsak, Clayton Orsak, Jacob Kahanek, Cole Kahanek, and Jason Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers: Clinton Jansky and Nathan Broom.
Memorials: St. James Episcopal Church or Accolade Hospice.
Burial: Hallettsville City Cemetery.
