Obituary

Varley "Ed" Ayraud, 75, of Hallettsville, passed away Sept. 16, 2011. He was born on Nov. 29, 1935 to Joseph V. & Jewel Lockwood Ayraud in Houston (Heights Community). He married Mary Lou Barnes on Mar. 19, 1960 in Houston, shared 51 years of wonderful memories, tears, laughs and many a dances. Ed worked for Coco Cola for 20 years and Bap Geon of Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Men of Houston, and First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville.

Ed will be remembered for his famous pancakes, beautiful smile, sense of humor, stories of life, and his beautiful blue eyes. He loved classic country, including George Straight and many oldies such as Elvis Priestley. He idealized classic automobiles, such as the 57 Chevrolet. He enjoyed their property in Ezzell, Texas, sitting, enjoying the deer, armadillos and eating chips & dips.

Ed is survived by: his wife Mary; daughter Paula King of Houston; sister-in-law Pearl Barnes of California; 2 grandchildren, Angie Price of Miss., and Andy King of Tomball; and numerous great grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by: his parents and son Paul Money.

Memorial Funeral Service: 11:45 am, Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Hallettsville. Officiate: Rev. Lundy Hooten.
