Vaclav C. Motal, 90, of Hallettsville, passed away April 14, 2017. He was born on December 13, 1926 to Henry & Annie Netardus Motal in Hallettsville. He married Helen Pustka on May 8, 1971 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville. He served in the US Army during WWII; and received the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Vaclav is survived by: his wife Helen; 2 sons, Matthew Motal & wife Lisa of Hallettsville, and Martin Motal & wife Debbie of Austin; brother Henry G. Motal of Austin; and 5 grandchildren, Morgan Fowler, Michael Motal, Danielle Motal, Jacob Motal, and Natalie Motal.

Vaclav was preceded in death by; his parents, brother Charles J. Motal, and sister Frances Meneley.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 5 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home; with Rosary starting at 7 pm. Pallbearers: Charles Motal, Daniel Motal, Robert Motal, Patrick Motal, J.R. Peters, Robert Pustka, and Arnold Riske. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
