Obituary

Topsy Fenner, 84, of Hallettsville, passed away March 14, 2017. She was born on February 19, 1933 to Charles and Lula Mae Fulkerson. On July 7, 1951 she married John Richard Fenner.

Topsy enjoyed entertaining people with tales of her time living on a big ranch in Oklahoma shortly after getting married. She loved telling stories of her life there before returning to their Texas ranch.   Her favorite stories were about her horse, Mac, which nothing could replace. She and Richard enjoyed listening to Country & Western music and going dancing with friends. Topsy enjoyed managing the Bel-Air and Cloud 9 Motels for many years during the early oil boom in Hallettsville. More recently, she assisted in running the office at Hallettsville Inn. During her later years, she loved spending time by herself in their country home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hallettsville.

Topsy is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Fenner Lucero, and 2 sisters, Charlene Hoffman and Laverne DeWitt and 2 brothers, Kenneth Fulkerson and Larry Fulkerson.

Topsy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother and 1 sister.

We would like to thank the physicians, nurses, sitters and staff of Hermann Memorial Hospital in downtown Houston.

Funeral Service: A private family gathering at a later date.
