Timothy W. Schaefer, 42, of Hallettsville, died July 27, 2008. He was born on August 11, 1965 to Calvin R. & Eleanora Fikac Schaefer in Hallettsville. He married Melinda Parr Schaefer on December 3, 1983 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. He received the Honorable Discharge from the US Marine Corps on October 17, 1988, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Tim had a passion for building hot rods, riding his motorcycle, and a love for spending time with his family and friends. He was a big fan of Nascar and was always ready to lend a helping hand to others, whether it was fixing or building anything they needed. Tim will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and the jokester he was with a never-ending laughter that touched the lives of so many.

Timothy is survived by: his wife Melinda; 3 sons, Jonathan Ryan Schaefer & wife Michelle of Hewitt, Cory Scott Schaefer of Hallettsville, and Aaron Myles Schaefer of Hallettsville; parents Calvin & Eleanora Schaefer of Hallettsville; 2 brothers, Roy Schaefer & wife Jean of Hallettsville, and Douglas Schaefer & wife Sharon of Hallettsville; sister Debbie Smith & husband John Leonard of Hallettsville; and grandchild Taylor Mackenzie Schaefer.

Service: 4 pm, Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: 2 pm, Tuesday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rosary: 3:30 pm, Tuesday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Cliton Janssen, Tracey Janssen, Michael Adams, Jacob Schaefer, Tommy Kainer, and Vincent Gaitan Jr. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic School of Hallettsville.
