IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas M.
Wick
August 6, 1955 – December 20, 2018
Thomas Michael Wick, 63, of Hallettsville, passed away on December 20, 2018. He was born on August 6, 1955, to Henry and Charlene Cmajdalka Wick in Houston. He married Sharon Grahmann on May 21, 1977, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Marriage Encounter, ACTS, God's Embrace, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also served as a Boy Scout leader for many years.
Thomas was a graduate of Hallettsville High School in 1973. Following high school, he earned an associate's degree from Victoria College. He was a carpenter, glass craftsman, mechanic, and jack-of-all-trades throughout his professional life. In his last position, he was a dedicated employee at Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. for almost five years.
Thomas was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a role model to his children, teaching them the importance of working hard and leading a responsible life. Most importantly, he treasured time with his family and looked forward to family get-togethers and celebrations. He was proud of his four grandchildren and was affectionately known as Grandpa and Opa. Thomas was a romantic who frequently brought flowers home for Sharon and wrote poetry and other beautiful messages for her.
A devout Catholic, Thomas was a man of prayer and deep faith, and he prayed the rosary every morning. His devotion to God inspired and will continue to inspire his family. He was a selfless person, always thinking of others first and volunteering to help out in any situation no matter what.
Thomas loved exploring the outdoors and enjoyed camping and hiking. He was known to frequently bring home interesting rocks to Sharon. He was an avid fisher and hunter who enjoyed the tranquility and peace of being out in nature. He cherished viewing sunsets with Sharon, and if she wasn't around, he would take a picture to share with her later.
To celebrate their 25th anniversary, Thomas and Sharon fulfilled their lifelong dream of visiting Canada and seeing mountains for the first time. Thomas instantly fell in love with Canada's majestic mountains and natural beauty, and he told Sharon that he wanted to move there one day.
Thomas enjoyed traveling with his family. In particular, he had a fondness for Colorado and made several trips to the Colorado Rockies, including a 12-day road trip where he enjoyed playing in the snow with his grandchildren, whitewater rafting with his children, horseback riding, and riding bikes from Breckenridge to Frisco.
Thomas was godparent to Rhonda Patek, Craig Tolson, Amy Jalufka, Cullen Wick, and Colby Johnson.
