Theresia Opela Brosch, 84, of Hallettsville, passed away July 3, 2013. She was born on Oct. 1, 1928 to Alois & Mary Jalufka Opela Sr. in the Wied Community in Lavaca County, Texas. She married Frank J. Brosch on June 24, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Theresia is survived by: 2 sons, Francis Brosch & wife Anita of Yoakum, and Douglas "Chilly" Brosch & wife Lisa of Shiner; brother Adolph Opela of Hallettsville; sister Lillie Satsky of Hallettsville; 6 grandchildren, Damian Brosch & wife Christy, Alecia Hussey & husband Brandon, Miranda Wenske & husband Nathan, Allysa Brosch, Noble Brosch, and Haven Brosch; and 5 great grandchildren, Dagan & Dayson Brosch, Aubree & Parker Hussey, and Emmerson Wenske.

Theresia was preceded in death by: husband Frank; parents; 2 brothers, Alois Jr. and Rudolph Opela; and 6 sisters, Agnes Janak, Janie Spacek, Mary Pekar, Helen Wall, Gussie Kurtz, and Dorothy Fikac.

Funeral Mass Service: 1 pm, Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Sweet Home, Texas. Rosary: 12:30 pm, Sunday, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation: 4 pm, Saturday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev Charles Sonnier. Pallbearers: Damian Brosch, Nathan Wenske, Brandon Hussey, Clayton Janak, Jerry Micek, and Donald Opela. Honorary Pallbearers: grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or Donor's Choice. Burial: St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery.
