Obituary

Theresa Ann Jalufka, 70, of Hallettsville, passed away Jan. 25, 2014. She was born on Nov. 30, 1943 to Frank V. & Agnes Gajdousek Chaloupka in Sweet Home. She married Daniel L. Jalufka Sr. on May 25, 1984 in Lavaca County, TX. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

Theresa grew up in the Moravia area until she was 6 years old, then they moved to Yoakum in the early 1950s. In 1960 they moved to Houston were she graduated John H. Reagan High School. She married William Rainosek on October 3, 1964. They had 3 sons and Theresa stayed home to raise them. After the death of her husband she and the boys moved to Hallettsville in 1976. She started working at Janak's Packing.

Theresa marrying her second husband, she had her fourth child and after about a year she decided to stay at home and care for her son and grandchildren. The grandkids were very blessed to have her care for them. After the grandchildren were older, she decided to go back to work in the food industry and later in 2011, she retired.

Theresa enjoyed helping at the St. Mary's Picnic, Vysehrad School, and various other functions. Being the generous person she was, she was always helping to sell raffle and meal tickets for different organizations. She made the best pickles, picante sauce, chicken and dumplings and loved bringing the "little donuts" from Kountry Bakery to the family gatherings.

She will be greatly missed by those who loved her and knew her.

Theresa is survived by: her husband Daniel; her children, William Rainosek Jr. & wife Sharee of Hallettsville, Michael Rainosek of Hallettsville, Andrew Rainosek & wife Donna of Hallettsville, and Randy Jalufka of Hallettsville; step children, Daniel Jalufka Jr. & Laura of Hallettsville, Tony Jalufka of Hallettsville, and Lisa Moore of Hallettsville; 2 sisters, Agnes Berkenhoff and Frances Janak; 3 brothers, Frankie, James, and Tony Chaloupka; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Theresa was preceded in death by: 1st husband William Rainosek; parents; sister Rose Melnar; step son Harvey Wayne Jalufka; and grandchildren Kyle Jalufka and Quinton Moore.

Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hallettsville.
Visitation: 4 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home.
Rosary: 7 pm, Tuesday, at Kubena Funeral Home.
Officiant: Msgr. James Henke.
Pallbearers: Christopher Rainosek, Jason Jalufka, Shawn Rainosek, Chase Rainosek, Mason Jalufka, Aiden Rainosek, Matthew Jalufka, and Brent Rainosek.
Honorary pallbearers: Whitney Rainosek, Shelly Rainosek, Clay Rainosek, Celton Rainosek; Hannah, Hailey & Haven Drozd.
Memorials: Charity of Your Choice.
Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
