Obituary

Teresa Ann Kallina, 61, of Austin, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, from a massive cerebral hemorrhage.  Her health had been compromised by cerebral palsy, breast cancer and chronic lymphocytic leukemia for many years.  She was born on July 11, 1959, in Wharton, to Doris Horton & James D. Kallina.  She was fifth generation Texan, and a descendant to John Alexander Clark, who settled in Lavaca County in 1937.  She enjoyed visiting the ranch that is still owned by family members.

Teresa was a resident of The Austin State Supported Living Center (ASSLC), for many years and was loved by all who knew her.  She was a happy, joyful lady who enjoyed watching old TV series, "The Banana Splits" cartoons, and all the Disney movies.

Teresa is survived by; her mother Doris Kallina, brother Stephen Kallina & wife Libby, and numerous nieces & nephews and their children.

Teresa was preceded in death by: her father James D. Kallina; brother Michael Kallina; and grandparents, Mary Clark Flournoy, and Jim & Augusta Kallina.

The family is especially grateful to the caregivers and all the staff members of the ASSLC and Ascension Seton Medical Center for the blessing of their love and care.

Graveside Service: 1 pm, Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Speaks Cemetery. Pallbearers: Steven Kallina, R. J. Nentwig Jr., R. J. Nentwig III, Wyatt Nentwig, Debra Kallina and Jared Hrabovsky. Officiant: Pastor Leslie Hunt. Memorials: ASSLC, 2203 West 35 th Street, Austin, Texas 78703-1203, will gratefully appreciated by her family. Refreshment will be served in Speaks Community Center.
