IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tammy Appelt
Carrizal
March 26, 1970 – August 17, 2017
Tammy Appelt Carrizal, 47, of Midlothian, TX, passed away August 17, 2017. She was born on March 26, 1970 to Harvey A. & Helen Layton Appelt in Victoria, TX. She graduated Valedictorian from Hallettsville High School in 1988, and The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy in 1993. She married Horacio C. Carrizal Jr. on April 5, 1997 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.
Tammy was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer in September of 2016. She was such a trooper, working full time throughout chemo and taking care of her family. She courageously battled this horrible disease for months. In the end, she spent more than a month being hospitalized, valiantly fighting the metastasis of this disease before her body finally gave out. However, her spirit will live on.
Tammy was a wonderful mother of 3 children ages 4, 9, 17. In addition, she was a dedicated loving wife, daughter, sister and an amazing friend to so many. Tammy is one of those special and unique people that left a positive and lasting impact on everyone she met. Her sweet, soft spoken spirit has touched so many lives that have been in contact with her. She would always put others first and was an encouragement to family, friends and co-workers.
Knowing how much family and friends care has helped us endure this trying time and is greatly appreciated. Tammy's family would like to thank everyone for your love and support, all the kind messages, words of encouragement, prayers, monetary donations, memorials, floral gifts, food and all special considerations you have provided during this most difficult time.
Tammy is survived by: her husband Horacio; parents; 2 sons, Alexander Louis Carrizal and Jacob Layton Carrizal; daughter Claire Isabel Carrizal; 2 sisters, Sharon Appelt Timm & husband Robert, and Alana Appelt McCarn & husband Chris; 5 nephews, Reid Timm, Benny Carrizal, Julien Vann, Eric Sena and Ethan Sena; and niece Victoria Vann.
