Sylvia is survived by: her children, Bernadette Kramer & husband George of Hallettsville, Josephine Klotz & husband Mike of Sugarland, Doris Etzler of Hallettsville, Henry Kallus & wife Frances of Hallettsville, Lawrence Kallus & wife Rene of Hallettsville, Anita Shimek & husband Stanley of Shiner, and Janice Grahmann & husband Michael of Schulenburg; 2 sisters, Regina Mayer of Granger, and Georgie McNatt of Schulenburg; 17 grandchildren, Troy Kramer & wife Michelle, Tricia Novotny & husband Chris, Kevin Klotz, Melissa Klotz, Travis Etzler, Shaun Etzler, Angela Shimek, Adrienne Hadaway & husband Matt, Scott Shimek, Amber Shimek, Ashley Shimek, Sarah Kallus, Jessica Kallus, Jennifer Kallus, Roxanne Stoever & husband Jeremy, Renee Dusek & husband Mike, and Kristen Grahmann; 2 step granddaughters, Kristen Weisinger and Rachel Burk; 9 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was preceded in death by: her husband Henry (March 20, 1993); parents; 3 sisters, Marta Kocurek at infancy, Ludmilla Hermis, and Hedwig Hermis; and 7 brothers, Bohumir, Jerry, Ben, Julius, Jerome, Frank and Joe Kocurek.
Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosaries: 7 pm, Monday at Kubena Funeral Home; and 1:30 pm Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Organist: Kevin Klotz. Pallbearers: Troy Kramer, Travis Etzler, Shaun Etzler, Scott Shimek, Jeremy Stoever, Matt Hadaway, Mike Dusek, and Chris Novotny. Honorary Pallbearers: the remaining grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchild. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or Donor's Choice.
