Mr. Steve E. Patterson, 55, of Hallettsville, died Dec. 25, 2007. He was born on Aug. 27, 1952 to Harold & Jane Fraser Patterson in Houston. Steve was baptized in the Baptist Church in Houston.  He served in the US Air Force from Jan. 20, 1972 to Jan. 19, 1976, and received the National Defense Service Award and Air Force Longevity Service Award. He married Maryln Hodges Patterson on Jan. 15, 1993 in Mossy Grove Methodist Church near Hallettsville.

Steve was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved to sit back with his family, smoking his pipe and watching movies. He loved hunting with his best friend, Dale and also with his family. Steve also loved golf, fishing, boating and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very compassionate and loving man who enriched the lives of everyone around him. He will be greatly missed and always loved deeply.

Steve is survived by: his wife Maryln; parents Harold & Jane Fraser Patterson of Houston; 3 sons, Scott Carver & wife Jennifer of Sacramento, CA, Stephen Patterson & wife Sara of Cuero, and David Patterson of Nebraska; 3 daughters, Laurie Patterson, Tanya Ingram & husband Joe of Meyersville, and Amanda Cervantes & husband Raul of Portsmouth, VA; 2 brothers, Ralph and Glen Patterson of Houston; and 7 grandchildren.

Service: 11 am, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at Salem Baptist Church. Visitation: 6 pm to 9 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiates: Rev. Jim Herrington and Rev. Kenneth Hodges. Pallbearers: Dale Benke, Rodney Gore, Joe Ingram, Raul Cervantes, Steven Patterson, David Patterson, Scott Carver, and Austin Ingram. Honorary Pallbearers: Rowland Gore, Ralph Patterson, and Glen Patterson. Burial: Salem Cemetery.
