Obituary

Stella G. Blaha, 91, of Hallettsville, passed away June 25, 2018. She left peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 23, 1926 to Emil E. & Emilie Mikus Melnar in Lavaca County, TX. She married Freddie V. Blaha Sr. on April 16, 1944. She was a member of the Czech Moravian Brethren Church of Vsetin. She was blessed three children; Kenneth and wife Dottie, Darlene and husband Tommy, and Freddie Jr. and wife Jean.

Stella enjoyed playing bingo, reading her Bible, watching the Astros, cheering on her favorite football teams, and feeding her cattle at the farm. Her greatest joys in life were watching her children and grandchildren compete in sports and were their biggest fan! She loved spending time with her family and sitting in her favorite recliner looking out the window checking on her neighbors.

Stella had a loving heart that never knew a stranger. She told everyone that "she loved them" whether she knew them or not. She was lovingly known and enjoyed life.

Stella is survived by; son Freddie V. Blaha Jr. & wife Jean of Weimar, daughter Darlene Henneke & husband Tommy of Hallettsville, daughter-in-law Dottie Blaha of Hallettsville and sister Evelyn Sklar of Hallettsville. She has 7 grandchildren; Shawn and Jodi Blaha of Hallettsville, Dana and Charlie Munson of Danbury, Tommy and Angela Henneke of Hallettsville, Dawn and Clayton Janak of Hallettsville, Dylan Blaha, John Michael Blaha, and Zane Blaha of Weimar. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.

Stella was preceded in death by: husband Freddie Sr.; parents; son Kenneth W. Blaha; 2 brothers, Alvin and Albert Melnar; and 4 sisters, Hermina Vasek, Elsie Dusek, Irene Vornsand, and Lucillie Ubnoski.

Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Czech Moravian Brethren Church of Vsetin, TX, with Visitation starting at 9 am. Officiant: Rev. Mark Labaj. Memorials: Czech Moravian Brethren Church or the donor's choice. Burial: Czech Moravian Brethren Cemetery.
