Bujnoch Sr.

Retired US AIR FORCE SMSgt Stanley D. Bujnoch Sr., age 87, of Hallettsville, Texas, died January 21, 2021. He was born March 23, 1933, in Hallettsville, to the late Theofil "Theo" Julius and Emilie Janak Bujnoch. The seventh child of eleven, his early years were spent attending Vysehrad school and working on the family farm picking cotton and raising animals. He was extremely proud of his prize-winning pigs, turkeys and as a participant in the calf scramble of the Houston Fat Stock Show in 1942. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1952. He married Betty A. Ott on September 28, 1957 in New Braunfels.
Stanley retired as a Senior Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force in 1979 after serving 26 ½ years. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, Korean War, The Cold War, and Iran Conflict. During his stint in the Air force, he traveled the world and earned the Bronze star, Air Force Commendation Metal, the National Defense Service Medal, and Air Force Good Conduct Medals.
Stanley served on the Vysehrad school board in the early 1980's and was member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, KJT, DAV Chapter #94, VFW Post #6382, American Legion Post #230, Air Force Sergeant Assn., and Knights of Columbus Council # 4371.
In 1975, Stanley moved the family to the farm in Vysehrad. There he enjoyed growing his cattle herd. He proudly helped his kids and grandkids raise the 4-H/FFA barrows and steers for Hallettsville Livestock Show and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He never truly retired from the job, in the early 1980's worked at Better Beverages in Hallettsville and Kasper Wire Works in Shiner then in 1983, he when to work for the Civil Service at Fort Sam Houston (SRAMA) and at Lackland Air Force Base before coming home in 1993; and then working at Tandy Brands for a few more years. Before he settled down to raise cattle, goats, chicken, doves, geese, dogs, peacock, peasant, turkeys, and various other animal which the grandkids affectionately nicknamed the zoo.
Survivors: his lovely wife Betty A. Ott of 63 years; daughters, Susan McDowell (Gary) of Pearland, Sandra Coe (Patrick) of Bellingham WA, Sally Bujnoch and special friend Jerry of Sugar Land, Shelly Summers (fiancé Shawn Meinkowsky) of Sugar Land; sons, Stanley D. Bujnoch Jr. (Becky) of Hallettsville, and James Bujnoch (Marsha) of Clear Lake. In addition to his children, he is survived by: his 10 grandchildren, Zachary (Kelly) Bujnoch of San Antonio, Cutter McDowell of Pearland, Emily and Abby Bujnoch of Hallettsville, Matthew Coe of Bellingham WA., Natalie, Jillian, and Emma Bujnoch of Clear Lake, Atalanta and Autumn Summers of Sugar Land; and 2 great grandchildren, Remy and Violet Bujnoch; sister Patricia Stroud of Houston; sisters-in-law, Lucille Bujnoch of Hallettsville, Joyce Bujnoch of New Braunfels; brothers-in-law, Danny Ott (Molly) of Conroe, Arvin (Leah) Brehm of New Braunfels; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Thomas J., James, Bernard, and Jerome Bujnoch; sisters: Henrietta Langhammer, Margaret Bujnoch, Lois Rita Konvicka, Adela Morisak, and Leona Bujnoch; brothers-in-laws, Alvin Langhammer, Dominic Konvicka, Louis Morisak, and Willie Ott; and sisters-in-laws, Henrietta Bujnoch, Mary Lee Brehm, and Emilie Ott.
Funeral Mass Service (All attendees must wear masks): 2:30 pm, Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville, TX; Visitation starting at 1 pm; and Rosary at 2 pm. Pallbearers: Zachary Bujnoch, Cutter McDowell, Larry Hlavac, John Mixion, Jerermy Brehm, and Jerry Huffman. Honorary Pallbearers: Matthew Coe, Mike Delarosa, Shawn Meinkowsky, Joshua Smith, and Danny Bujnoch. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: St. Mary's Catholic Church or Donor's Choice. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
