Siegfried was a veteran of the Korean War. During his service, he received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Siegfried is survived by: his wife Mary of 53 years; son Dennis Golsch & wife Tessa of Cibolo, TX; daughter Jennifer Golsch of Hallettsville; brother Ted Golsch & wife Lyda of Bulverde,TX; 3 sisters, Beatrice "Bea" Wyatt & husband Hubbard of Hallettsville, Evelyn Cernoch of Weimar, and Gertrude "Gertie" Shimek & husband Roman of Hallettsville; and 2 grandchildren, Dane & Tory Golsch.
Siegfried was preceded in death by: his parents, sister Irene Carley, brother Hilbert Golsch, and brother-in-law August Cernoch.
Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Friday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Daniel Danson. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic School, or Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
