Mrs. Shirley Rene Tise, 68, of Speaks, died Feb. 18, 2008. She was born Sept. 20, 1939 to Hayden E. & Louise Kalisek Cook in Lavaca County, Texas. She married Joe Tise on March 12, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Hallettsville. She was a member of Christ the King Church in Hallettsville.

Shirley is survived by: son Carey Tise & wife Natalie of Bellville; 2 daughters, Kimberly Karstedt & husband Thomas of La Grange, and Amy Raabe & husband Chris of Vienna; 2 brothers, Emmett Cook & wife Lillie of El Campo, and Joe Cook & wife Charlotte of Edna; sister Wilma Ann Jahn & husband Carl of Vienna; and 6 grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by: husband Joe on Oct. 3, 2006; parents; and granddaughter Alana Karstedt.

Service: 10 am, Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at Christ the King Church. Visitation: 2 pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Pastor Darrell McManus. Pallbearers: Rusty Smith, Ty Cook, Al Miska, Johnny Tise, Douglas Clark, Darrell Mozisek, Tony Stolar, and Ricky Konvicka. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Brian Reasoner, Dr. Burkes, Dr. Llampart, Dr. Amanda Kurtz, Dr. Sage, and all staff of LMC. Burial: Speaks Cemetery. Memorials: American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
