Obituary

Selma Minnie Langenberg, 90, was a resident of Paradise Oaks of Victoria, Texas. She was formerly of Hallettsville and passed away October 13, 2010. She was born on August 25, 1920 to Henry F. & Minnie Lorfing in the Shiloh Community in Lavaca County, Texas. She went to the school in the Shiloh Community. She married Alfred "Posey" Langenberg on January 5, 1945 and made their home in the Shiloh Community. She loved to quilt and do her gardening in the spring. She was a member of many organizations in the Hallettsville community, and of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville.

Selma is survived by: son James Langenberg & wife Ruth of Goliad; brother Alfred Lorfing & wife Eunice of Victoria; 2 sisters, Dorothy Lorfing, and Lucille Parker & husband John, all of Hallettsville; 2 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Selma was preceded in death by: her husband Alfred; parents; and 2 brothers, Oscar H. Lorfing and Adolph Lorfing.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 pm, Friday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Dr. Alan Williams. Pallbearers: Randy Horn, Ron Knotts, Max Langenberg, Danny Hairell, John Seals, and Neil Lorfing. Honorary Pallbearers: the Doctors of Citizens Hospital and Lorfing family. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery. Memorials: Shiloh Cemetery or Donor's Choice.
