Ruby Joyce Mayer, 68, of Hallettsville, passed away Dec. 15, 2015. She was born on June 8, 1947 to Alfred & Jessie Judd Filla in Hallettsville. She married Larry Mayer on Aug. 8, 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

In her spare time, Ruby enjoyed being outdoors. She loved working in her garden, visiting with friends when they stopped by, and cooking. Ruby was a great cook, but the joy of her life were her grandchildren, She loved spending time with them and being involved in their lives.

Ruby is survived by: her husband Larry; 2 sons, Larry Mayer Jr. of Victoria, and David Mayer of Hallettsville; 3 brothers, Robert Filla, Larry Berkenhoff, and Gary Berkenhoff; sister Tami Staatz; 3 grandchildren, Kendall, Robert and Ryan Mayer; and 3 great grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass Service: 2 pm, Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home with Rosary starting at7 pm. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Pallbearers: Alan Jirkovsky, Tommy Hermas, Scott Henley, Glen Henley, Russell Robertson, and Jason Keyser. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
