Rubie O. DeBord, 97, of Ezzell, passed away Feb. 4, 2013. She was born on Dec. 18, 1915 to Henry & Anna Gold Pohl in Lavaca County, Texas. She married John Wesley DeBord on Jan. 3, 1936 in Hallettsville. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth, Texas.

Rubie is survived by: 3 daughters, Ruth Streetman & husband John Henry of Houston, Weslene Gaetjen & husband Ted of Hallettsville, and Noramee Cornelius & husband Stephen of Hallettsville; 6 grandchildren, Angela Tullos, Amy Arredondo, Paula Gold, Alicia Davis, Jonathan Eric Torres, and Michael Wesley Torres; and 12 great grandchildren, Wesley Tullos, Alexandra Tullos, Kylee Tullos, Ashley Arredondo, Amber Arredondo, Garret Gold, Conner Gold, Levi Gold, Haley Cottingham, Ashley Ruth Torres, Mckinzey Torres, and Kaiden Torres.

Rubie was preceded in death by: her husband Wesley; parents; 4 brothers, Harbertt, Benard, Henry, and Frankie Pohl; 5 sisters, Amelia McElroy, Nora Guthrie, Minnie Castellow, Velma Pohl, and Mary Pohl; and grandchild Kym Torres.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Koerth. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Charles Sonnier. Pallbearers: Keith Gold, Conner Gold, Garret Gold, Rob Davis, Errin Arredondo, Wesley Tullos, Todd Tullos, and Michael Torres. Honorary Pallbearers: McKinzey Torres, Kayden Torres, Alexandra Tullos, Kylee Tullos, Haley Cottingham, Ashley Ruth Torres, Amber Arredondo, Ashley Arredondo, and Levi Gold. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of South Texas, American Cancer Society, or donor's Choice. Burial: Salem Cemetery near Ezzell, Texas.
