Obituary

Rubie Allene Crandall, 89, of Hallettsville, passed away, July 15, 2023; she was known as "Cookie" by all those who loved her.  She was born on September 29, 1933, to Jack & Nora Pohl Guthrie in Hallettsville.  She was Valedictorian of her Hallettsville High School class of 1951.

Cookie met her husband, Bill, who was a veterinarian when he went to their place in Ezzell to treat a sick cow.  They were married June 5, 1966, and had one son, Jack Warren, who passed away from cancer on February 7, 2016.

Cookie was an active member in the Women's Republican Party and helped hold many elections.  In her younger years she enjoyed cooking and crocheting.

Cookie frequently spoke about fond memories of traveling while Jack Warren helped coach baseball.  She loved the wildflower fields in Fredericksburg and keeping up with her extended family.

Cookie was preceded in death by her son and husband.
