Royce W. Evans Sr., 59, of Hope Community, died August 18, 2006. He was born to Bethel & Nellie Rucker Evans on November 3 1946 in Hallettsville, Texas. He married Edna Mae Loos on September 23, 1967 at the First Baptist Church in Hallettsville.

Royce was a member of the First Baptist Church of Yoakum. He worked in the oilfield for over 35 years.

Royce was a loving and caring person. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and country life. He loved family get-togethers. All his grandchildren were his SPECIAL pride and each held a special place in his heart. He was very proud of his children and always tried to install high moral standards. He was very proud of the Evans name and always stressed to his children and grandchildren that quality and to keep it respectful. He was known to family and friends with various names; Red, Wayne, Royce, and Paw Paw.

Service: 10 am, Monday, August 21, 2006 at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville. Visitation: 3 pm, Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiates: Brother Dwight Reagan and Brother Terry Horton. Burial: Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeff Evans, Eddy Thomas, Jeff Mills, Quinton Loos, Jesse Allen, and Michael Nobles. Memorials: American Cancer Society or Heart Association
