Obituary

Mrs. Rosie Klekar Nagle, 83, of Hallettsville, passed away March 2, 2008. She was born on January 26, 1925 to John P. & Mary Micek Klekar in Hallettsville. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and Czech Heritage Society.

Rosie graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1942 second in her class falling just one point shy of first. According to her brother Frankie she always got straight A's and always made it look easy. After high school she worked until she had enough money to carry on her education. She attended the University of Texas where she received two degrees in Chemistry and Bacteriology. She finished college at the age of 30. She then met her husband Robert Lee Nagle Sr., they married on November 2, 1962 in Texas City and then resided in Dickinson Texas. She was a very loving and devoted wife. Rosie was very devoted to whatever she did including her work. She was the head Chemist for the State of Texas Public Health where she was in charge of quality control. Or as explained to her grand children she taste tested different ice creams. After 16 years with the state she decided to try a different job making mineral oil for Marathon Oil who was later bought out by Pennzoil. She retired from Pennzoil after 17 years as head of the lab department. During her years as a chemist Rosie made her own facial cream that all her friends loved. She also sold Avon in her spare time.

After retirement Rosie stayed plenty busy with substitute teaching, volunteer librarian, and her last job was working at the local Hallettsville golf course, she always mentioned that she really enjoyed her time at the course. Rosie's always enjoyed a good conversation with all her friends and family and had a love and keen ability with trivia games such as crossword puzzles. During Jeopardy there weren't to many answers that Rosie didn't know.

Rosie will be missed and loved by many she was survived by her son Robert Lee Nagle Jr. of Newcastle Wyoming three grand children Kody Nagle of Newcastle, Wyoming, Kourtney Nagle of Spearfish, South Dakota, and Kyle Nagle of Sheridan, Wyoming. She had one great grandchild Morgen Presleigh Frank of Spearfish, South Dakota and her Brother Frankie Klekar of Hallettsville Texas and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Rosie was preceded in death by: husband; parents John P. Klekar & Mary Micek Klekar Chamrad; 2 brothers, Lt. Col. John F. Klekar Sr., and Paul Klekar; and 4 sisters, Mary Uhyrek, Annie MacMahan, Louise Lorke, and Elenora Rainosek.

Memorial Service: 2:30 pm, Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 2:30 pm, Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 5 pm, Saturday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas, or Donor's Choice.
