Rose Marie Melnar, 64, of Houston, passed away Dec. 3, 2011. She was born on Aug. 30, 1947 to Frank V. & Agnes Gajdousek Chaloupka in Lavaca County, TX. She married Patrick V. Melnar on June 17, 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Senton Catholic Church of Houston.

Rose is survived by: her husband Patrick; 3 brothers, Frankie Chaloupka of Schulenburg, James Chaloupka of La Grange, and Anthony Chaloupka of Schulenburg; 3 sisters, Agnes Berckenhoff of Schulenburg, Theresa Jalufka of Hallettsville, and Francis Janak of Hallettsville; and her two favorite dogs, Sinbad and Birdie.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 3 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Jeremy Janak, Willie Rainosek, Randy Jalufka, Marshall Melnar, Trent Barker, and Richard Potter. Memorial: American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
