Rose Elaine (Leopold) Henneke, 63, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Moravia, Texas after a lovely day spent with family. She was born on October 24, 1954 in Hallettsville, Texas to Andrew Sr. and Josephine (Bujnoch) Leopold.
Rose graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1972. On November 26, 1983, she married the love of her life, R. John Henneke in Hallettsville. She was fortunate to work as an Administrative Office Assistant for several established firms in the shipping industry and finally, with petrochemical supplier Bill Spitzer & Associates, Inc. in Houston, Texas.
Rose loved to read, antiquing was her passion and she loved to dance with her beloved husband of 34+ years. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends in Moravia, on various camping/RV trips and wouldn't miss a chance to see her grandbabies. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Rose is survived by: her husband Roland John Henneke; son and daughter-in-law, Tyler and Christy Henneke; grandchildren, Katelyn and Garrett; her mother Josephine Leopold; father-in-law Roland Henneke; sisters, Rebecca Cohen, Joan Polach, Barbara Nelson; and brothers, Donald, Andrew Jr., and James Leopold. In addition, Rose leaves behind a host of cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
She was preceded in death by; her father Andrew J. Leopold Sr., mother-in-law Dorothy (Grahmann) Henneke and nephew Trey Kapalski.
Memorial Funeral Mass Service: 2:30 pm, Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (400 East Fifth Street) of Hallettsville; with Rosary starting at 2 pm. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials (in lieu of flowers): Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville or Charity of Your Choice. Rose's favorite organizations included St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project and the American Diabetes Association. A Reception will immediately follow at the American Legion Hall located at 107 East Park Street, Hallettsville, Texas 77964.
