Obituary

Rose Marie Kloppenburg, 76, of Hallettsville, Texas, died July 3, 2006. She was born on February 10, 1930 to Emil & Tracy Martisek Trlica in Eagle Lake, Texas, and was raised in the Vsetin Community.

After graduating from Hallettsville High School, Rose Marie married Robert H. Kloppenburg. Over the years she held several jobs in the Hallettsville area. They included testing cotton for Goedecke's, clerical work at Hoffer Truck Lines and even rolling cigars at the Hallettsville Cigar Factory. With each job her circle of friends widened.

She was a member of the Women's group of the ELCA, Czech Heritage Society, S.P.J.S.T., and Zion Lutheran Church of Sublime, Texas.

Rose is survived by: son Robert D. Kloppenburg & wife Jackie of Spring, Texas; 3-grandchildren, Megan Culpepper & husband Jason of Cypress, Texas, Sara Kloppenburg of Dallas, Texas, and Emily Kloppenburg of College Station, Texas. Her special family also included her Aunt Frances, and her cousins, Anita Hagens, Vivian Chudej and Charlene Chatham.

Rose is preceded in death by, parents Emil & Tracy Martisek Trlica.

Rose Marie's life was rich and full. She loved nature, especially flowers, and working in her yard. She liked to travel, shop, visit with her friends and listen to a good polka. She enjoyed reading recipes and cooking for her loved ones, neighbors and friends. But the greatest joy in her life was her granddaughters. She loved their stories, their humor, and the time they spent together. She had a special bond with each one that death will not diminish.

Service: 10am, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hallettsville. Visitation : 1pm, Tuesday at Kubena Funeral Home, with family receiving visitors between 5pm to 7pm that Tuesday. Officiate: Rev. Herb Beyer. Pallbearers: Cliff Chatham, Charles Jahn, Edwin Gallia, John Martisek, Charles Koerth, and Dr. O.J. Woytek. Burial: Vsetin Cemetery. Memorials: Zion Lutheran Church of Sublime, or Donor's Choice.
