Robert Doyle Nelms, 79, of Floresville, formerly of Hallettsville, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008. He was born Aug. 21, 1928 in Petersburg, TN, to James Robert & Jessie Womack Nelms. He served in the Merchant Marines and U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the VA and American Legion. He attended the Church of Christ in Hallettsville.

Robert is survived by brother Lewis Nelms & wife Marilyn; 2 sister-in-laws, Martha and Louise Nelms; and friends Billy & Bobbie Hobbs.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Thurman and Paul Nelms.

Graveside Service: 3 pm, Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Hallettsville City Cemetery. Officiate: Brother Elvis Johnson. Memorials: The American Legion.
