Raymond "Ben" Steffek, 86, of Hallettsville, passed away March 26, 2012. He was born on August 17, 1925 to Joe R. & Emilie Sitka Steffek in Lavaca County, Texas. He was a member of K.J.T. with a 75 year pin, Knights of Columbus, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Ben is survived by: sister-in-law Magdalene "Lena" Steffek; nieces and nephews, Beatrice Welfl & husband Robert, Elrose Migl & husband Frank, Dorothy Henke & husband Leo C., Joe R. Steffek & wife Gladys, David Steffek, Daniel Steffek & wife Shirley, Mary Sklar & husband Leonard, Patrick Steffek & wife Carol, Magdalene Pustka & husband Robert, Frances Bock & husband John, and Monica Barnes & husband Claude; and 41 great nieces & nephews.

Ben was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers, Joe N. Steffek and Jerome Steffek; 2 sisters, Margaret Steffek and Helen Steffek; and niece-in-law Patsy Steffek.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Friday, March 30, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7 pm, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Joe R. Steffek, David Steffek, Daniel Steffek, Patrick Steffek, Leo Henke, Leonard Sklar, John Bock, and Claude Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers: Frank H. Migl, Robert Welfl, and Robert Pustka. Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: St. Mary's, Sacred Heart, or Donor's Choice.
