IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pauline Sylvia
Christine Flathmann Wendel
September 20, 1935 – January 10, 2008
Pauline lived her entire life as a daughter, wife or widow of a Lutheran pastor. She lived in 15 different locations in her lifetime and sought to serve her Lord in each location as a church organist, women's Bible study leader, choir accompanist and/or director, or in any other capacity that she was needed. She had a contagious love of life and people; she never met a stranger. She was well-loved and will be greatly missed. She is with the Lord and happy to be reunited with those who have preceded her.
Pauline is survived by two daughters and one son, Mary (Wendel) Waters and husband Kenny of Rockdale, Kristen (Wendel) Shults and husband Tommy of Mission, Paul D. Wendel of Hallettsville; three grandchildren, Tanya (Waters) Arnold and husband Scott of Marble Falls, Pamela (Waters) Thomas and husband Brad of Rockdale, Kellen R. Shults of Mission; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna Arnold and Tyler Thomas. She is also survived by brother, Henry Flathmann and wife Edith of St. Paul, MN, and sister-in-law, Virginia Flathmann of Hallettsville. She is survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Waldemar Wendel; her parents, Albert and Mary Flathmann; and one brother, Albert Flathmann.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hallettsville, TX. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
At the request of Pauline Sylvia Christine Flathmann Wendel, her family would like to extend her and their gratitude to the town and people of Hallettsville for welcoming and adopting the Wendel family into your midst. Since their move to Hallettsville in July of 2003, the people of Hallettsville have done all in their power to welcome them and make them one of their own. Without naming specific individuals for fear of omitting someone's name, please know that the love and support that has been shown by each one of you has made Hallettsville the Wendel family's home. Thank you.
