IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Ann
Tesch
March 17, 1937 – February 10, 2019
Patricia Ann Tesch, 81, of The Woodlands, passed away Feb. 10, 2019. She was born on March 17, 1937, to Joseph A. & Herminia Zapalac Dvorak in Wied, TX. Patsy was a kind and sweet child who learned the value of hard work early on. When Patsy wasn't attending church or chores, she found time to jump in the creek or slide down the barn roof barefooted with her three brothers Dan, Babe, Jerry and three sisters Judy, Dellie, and Josephine.
At the age of 15, Miss Patsy was growing into a striking young woman when a handsome fella, James W. Tesch, stole her gaze. She was smitten. One year and many dances at Wied Hall later, those two lovebirds decided to tie the knot and get married on March 1, 1954 at Vsetin Lutheran Church. Little did they know then, they would begin to create something great.
Not too long after they were married, Patsy and James brought into this world a beautiful boy named Kenneth Tesch. Though he was just a baby, God called him home to be an angel. The Lord continued to bless Patsy and James with six more incredible children: the eldest James Tesch Jr., the rowdy Doug Tesch, the headstrong Karl Tesch, the cool Rodney Tesch, the stunning Connie Sawyer, and the gorgeous late Karen Wilkerson.
Throughout Patsy's life, she was fierce as she was sweet. Patsy was the epitome of what a mother should be: strong, selfless, supportive, nurturing, and authoritative. Being a mother to six kids was tough, but she was tougher. With that toughness came an intense amount of love. When the kids were sick, she took care of them. When it was their birthday or Christmas, she spoiled them. She was equally great a mother as she was a wife. Patsy and James were inseparable. She once took a floral class at the same school James taught at, just so that they could spend more time with each other. Patsy would go on to volunteer her time at places like St. Luke's church and school where she would assist the teachers, make books for the blind, all the while making sure her children kept out of trouble.
With so many children, it was natural that she would get to enjoy 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She could be seen with her biggest smile, holding her grandbabies. During these golden years with her growing large family, she enjoyed doing things with them like creating t-shirts using paint for designs, playing games, and watching the movie Richie Rich for the hundred thousandth time. She and James made it a priority to attend weddings, birthday parties, reunions, and gatherings. She enjoyed tending her large garden where she could make even the daintiest flower blossom boldy.
During her grand years, Patsy and James grew older in age, but younger in heart. Patsy was all about the things that mattered most, such as spending time with her lifelong love James, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with James traveling to places like Hawaii, dropping nickels in Louisiana, browsing the aisle at Salvation Army, or simply watching reruns of Family Feud from 1976. On October 4th 2017, James was called home to Heaven. Even though this time was extremely hard, Patsy persevered where she would continue to nurture her family by walking her granddaughter down the aisle in New York City to holding her newly born great grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by: 4 sons, James Tesch Jr. & wife Ellen, Douglas Tesch & wife Sandra, Karl Tesch, and Rodney Tesch & wife Jennifer; daughter Connie Sawyer & husband Chris; 2 brothers, Daniel and Joseph "Babe" Dvorak; sister Dellie Pustevosky; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
