IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Ann
Lorfing
December 27, 1943 – October 20, 2007
She met her lifelong sweetheart, Luther P. Lorfing at a local dance by the Moods and later married on May 21, 1966 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hallettsville, TX. They were blessed with their daughter, Michele, on June 20, 1967. Later Luther and Pat moved to Beeville, TX and later moved to Colorado Springs, CO where Luther was stationed at Fort Carson in the Army. They then returned back to Beeville with Pat beginning her lifelong love of childcare. Their family grew with the blessing of their son, John Paul, on December 24, 1974. The family returned to their home county in 1975 residing in their present day home in Hallettsville. Pat continued her in home daycare raising many, many children. She loved to watch her "children" grow up and read about them in the local newspaper. She was referred to by many as "Ms. Lorfin." Her daycare flourished for 35 years. It was a true passion to educate young children.
Pat's hobbies included collecting antiques and various collections that were proudly displayed in her home. She took pride in the beautiful things in life. She would spend many hours admiring and dreaming in her backyard garden. Pat was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Ladies Club and the Shiloh Home Extension Club. She enjoyed laughing, playing games, and believed in giving.
She was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hallettsville where she served as Sunday School Teacher for many years. Pat was a member of the Shiloh Home Extension Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Pat is survived by her husband of 41 years, Luther P. Lorfing; a daughter, Michele Kolacny and husband David J. of Hallettsville, and their two sons, Drayton Joel and Mclane Adair Kolacny; a son John Paul Lorfing and wife Nancy Vornsand of Pflugerville; 2 brothers, Marvin Kremling and wife Dorothy of Shiner, and Kenneth Kremling and wife Dorothy of Yoakum; and 2 sisters, Evelyn Hoffmann and husband Welgene of Shiner, and Deloris Heidaker and husband Eugene of Cuero.
Pat beamed with pride and joy with the arrival of her two grandsons, Drayton and Mclane. She believed no day should be spent without learning. "Granny" instilled this love for education by playing various games with her grandchildren as a treasured pastime.
Pat adored the beautiful things in life. She loved her flowers and spending time sitting in her backyard flower garden. Antiques were her passion and she took pride in fine collectables. She was referred to, by the many children who grew up in her home, as "Ms. Lorfin." She honored the many accomplishments of her daycare children as she watched them grow.
Pat's strong faith in God was evident by the examples she set, and the love she shared for her family and children.
Patricia Ann Lorfing was a special, generous, loving person to her family and friends. Thank you for being here with us to celebrate her life and for keeping her family in your prayers.
