Oscar Harper Jr., 88, of Hallettsville, passed away November 2, 2016. He was born on March 7, 1928 to Oscar "Bill" & Viola Lemons Harper Sr. in Hallettsville. He was a veteran of WWII.

Oscar worked as a cattleman with Leon Barnes Sr. operation for 30 plus years, after which time he continued to enjoy his own cattle ranching.

Oscar leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 63 years, Alpha Elaine Harper, and a host of friends, nephews and nieces.
