Octaviano "Coop" Anthony De LaRosa, 87, of Hallettsville, passed away May 4, 2021.  He was born on March 29, 1934, to Pedro and Pauline Hernandez De LaRosa, in Hallettsville.

Coop worked at Ehler's Furniture for 30+ years.  After he retired from Ehler's, he worked for Jo's Green Hut for 10 years.

Coop was never was one to stay still and do nothing.  He always had multiple jobs.  He even worked as a bartender at Davila's Dance Hall & Vic's Tavern, and multiple yards.

Coop loved to be outside and was always walking around town, and ready to meet new friends, rain or shine, you will see him around town.

Coop enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, dominos, fishing, bingo, playing pool and have few cold cervezas.  Also enjoyed going to the Parish Picnics.  You could find him walking around talking with friends and family, and under the pavilion, listing to the music.  He enjoyed playing the Cake Walk and never left the picnic without a cake or two.

Coop is survived by: his daughter Angie Soto of Hallettsville; his son Roger De LaRosa of Victoria; 2 brothers Henry De LaRosa and Pedro De LaRosa; 3 sisters Nativdad Neubauer, Frances Garza, and Cecilia Banda; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren plus 2 on the way.

Coop was preceded in death by; his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Memorial Funeral Service (All attendees should wear a mask): 10am, Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Rosary: starts at 9:30 am, Saturday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
