Nellie Rae Harris, 73, of Hallettsville, passed away May 8, 2012. She was born on Sept. 19, 1938 to William & Elsie Pohl Farmer in Yoakum. She married George G. Harris on Oct. 23, 1979 in Bay City. She worked as a Registered Nurse in the general area of Texas.  She was a member of Christ the King Church of Hallettsville.

Nellie is survived by: her husband George; son, Matt Southall & wife Gail of Hallettsville; 3 daughters, Debra Emmons & husband John of Palacios, Vivian Orr & husband Mark of Matagorda, and Kim Mangum & husband Jeff of Shiner; brother, William Farmer of Victoria; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Nellie was preceded in death by her mother and step-father.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, May 11, 2012, at Christ the King Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 4 pm, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. Darrell McManus. Pallbearers: Paul Orr, Mark Orr, Joseph Orr, Brandon Orr, John Emmons, and Matthew Southall. Burial: Willow Creek Cemetery.
