Millie was an excellent cook and was known for her delicious cornbread dressing, kolaches, barbeque, and homemade chicken noodle soup. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, polka music, spending time with her family and just being home.
Millie is survived by: 2 sons, Hubert Gerlich Jr. & wife Agnes of Cypress, Texas, and Michael Gerlich & wife Diane of Bellaire, Texas; brother Ervin Biehunko & wife Lorene of Moulton; 7 grandchildren, Lisa & husband Jeff Grissom of Magnolia, Trey Gerlich and wife Angela of Austin, Ryan Gerlich of College Station, and Sam, Sarah, Adam and Jason Gerlich all of Bellaire; 4 great grandchildren include Katelyn, Coby and Cameron Grissom of Magnolia, and Wesley Gerlich of Austin.
Millie was preceded in death by: her husband of fifty-one years Hubert Gerlich, Sr.; her parents; 6 sisters, Rosie Etheridge, Mary Lee Kunetka, Lillian Christen, Hattie Ehler, Annie Honish, and Pauline Welfl; and 3 brothers, Edward, Adolph, and John Biehunko Jr.
Service: 10 am, Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: 3 pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7pm, Monday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Pallbearers: Trey Gerlich, Jeffrey Grissom, Ryan Gerlich, Johnnie Biehunko, Kyle Kloc, and George Laflin. Honorary Pallbearer: Harvey Ehler. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
