Mildred Trout Rouse, 78, died December 13, 2006. She was born on August 26, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents Walter and Sophie Mosley Trout. Mildred lived in Lufkin, Texas with her family and graduated from Lufkin High School. She graduated from The University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Latin American Studies. While at The University, Mildred was initiated into Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Mildred married Claude C. Rouse of Houston on August 27, 1949. Before moving to Hallettsville, Texas in January of 1962, Mildred and Claude, with their children, lived in Houston.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Claude, of fifty-seven years; son David and wife Janice of San Antonio, Texas; son Richard and wife Ruth of Hallettsville, Texas; and daughter Sophie Fay Rouse Teltschik and husband Gary of Columbus, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren Jason Rouse; Tracy Rouse Bradstreet and husband Andy; Kari Rouse Smith and husband Nathan; Randy Rouse; Rachelle Rouse Diaz and husband Cesar; Rick Rouse; Trent Teltschik; Sophie Morgan Teltschik; and Claire Elizabeth Teltschik; and great grandchildren, Jared Smith and Sarah Michalea Rouse. Mildred is also survived by sister, Sophie Trout Wetzel of Austin, Texas; brother, Bill Trout of Lufkin, Texas and a host of many loving family members and friends. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents and son, John Walter Rouse.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2006, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hallettsville, Texas, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or the Friench Simpson Memorial Library in Hallettsville.
