Mildred Louise Koncaba, 90, of Hallettsville, passed away September 25, 2021. She was born on June 4, 1931, to Fred J. & Frances Opela Janak, in Lavaca County, TX. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.
Mildred loved to cook, if you were at her house, you did not go hungry. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls, cheese rolls kolaches and egg noodles. The eggs she used in her noodles came from her chickens. Her eggs tasted so good, because she fed them spaghetti that she cooked, bread, greens from the garden and of course chicken food. She also loved DQ Tacos.
The family of Mildred would like to thank, for their professional care; Hallettsville Nursing & Rehab, Lavaca Medical Center, and Hospice of South Texas.
Mildred is survived by: daughter Pam Krenek; son Mark Jares; 2 brothers, Harvey Janak & wife Vivian, and Robert Janak & wife Josephine; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Chovanetz & wife Tina, Patrick Sardelich and Kristopher Jares; 4 great grandchildren, Konnor Chovanetz, Calen, Micah and Cameron Sardelich; and nieces & nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by: 1 st husband Maxie Jares; 2 nd husband George Koncaba Sr.; daughter Patrica Jares; parents; sister Gertrude Matusek; and 3 brothers, Daniel, Wilbur Janak and one at birth.
Funeral Mass Service: 11 am, Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville; Visitation: 9 am; with Rosary starting at 10:30 am (all at Church). Pallbearers: Randy, Quentin, Rodney, Scott, Michael and Glen Janak. Officiant: Rev. John Affum. Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or donor's choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
